Duchamp, Cornell, Johns & Rauschenberg Published in conjunction with the exhibition Dialogues: Duchamp, Cornell, Johns, Rauschenberg by The Dallas Museum of Art, Dallas, Texas, and The Yale University Press. Translucency and layering were a key thematic element of the work in the exhibition. Duchamp’s La Boite Verte, the centerpiece of the exhibition, provided the inspiration for the concept and palette. La Boite Verte was one of Duchamp’s witty and trenchant “retrospectives in a box,” a portable mini-exhibit of some of his seminal work in miniaturized reproduction. The piece utilized layered and translucent images, including various kinds of film, mylar, and the like. The design of the book likewise incorporates some of these things, in initial letters, image bleeds and writing over writing, as with the cover design. September 2005. 112 pages, 10 × 8 inches. ISBN 0-300-10929-1.
2006 Winner of a Gold Citation Wilder Award, Texas Associations of Museums.
