Angela Strassheim: Left Behind
This design was a close collaboration with the artist. Angela Strassheim was raised as a strict fundamentalist Christian, which she rejected in her youth and then returned to in her adulthood to document and record. Her photographs, filled with a cool pathos, required a large-format book; not only are the prints very large physically, but the themes she investigates with them, not least her own departure and return, are monumental as well.
Published in conjunction with the exhibition Angela Strassheim: Left Behind by the Faulconer Gallery, Grinnell College, October 2006. Curated by Daniel Strong. 34 pages, 292 × 235 mm. ISBN 978-0-9776779-4-8
